A website that is basically for the older person - silver surfer with time and understanding of technology, but also, one that introduces to the older and less well off in our society, technology that can help them in their day to day lives - The iPad, online shopping, Skype and keeping in touch with friends and relatives by way of instruction, knowledge and hands-on helping!.  Can we get the newly retired or financially secure to help the less well off?  Volunteering, purpose to life, helping others - on your own terms though - possibly a register - I can help on this day - I have a car, or my skills are this, cook or bake for someone, talk to them.

THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT...

Have a fun, biased, (because it is my website!!) that ridicules the PC element in society - Roger’s Rants!!! A load of bollocks!!! etc., stories, articles from contributors - that’s important - we want other people to do the work and contribute.

Also, most importantly, I want to help the oder community with issues:  loneliness, mobility, involvement, conversation, help with their finances.  Listen to older people, get them to tell their stories, get all people to tell their stories for their families (a simple template or form).

Help in the local community, what do you need, how can we help - how can we find someone who has time to help?

Be a magazine for local information, health matters - links to the local surgeries.  Links to local events - what’s on in your area.  Connect to the local social services, the local town council or county council.

Also little titbits - blah blah -  - old fixes and what we did back in the day - rather like Readers Digest - "Laughter is the best medicine”, “Life’s like that” etc. -  stories and writer’s articles, for example: when I asked asked an “older” gentleman when the snow was around, if i could get any essentials for him to save him going out in the bad weather - he yes please - expecting milk and bread, he asked for 3 bottles of Hobgoblin beer and some mince pies!! - Oh well…
